Summer Maintenance Reminders

Perform the following maintenance items to keep your home well-maintained and in compliance with your Association.

  • Pressure Wash Vinyl Siding, Fences, Shutters. Mildew and dirt can cause vinyl to become brittle and shorten its life span.

  • Keep flower beds weeded and tidy and grass mowed. At a minimum, this should be done every two weeks.

  • Repaint or stain front doors, decks, fences and window and door trim to keep your home looking fresh and preserve these items.

  • Check your air filters! A dusty air filter reduces your AC's performance by putting unnecessary strain on the system, which increases energy usage and repair bills.

  • Get your roof inspected by an experienced roofer. Replacing shingles, removing mold, caulking around vent pipes and patching small issues now can save you expensive roof and water damage repairs later.

  • Clean your Gutters. Clean and properly working gutters send rainwater away from your home, saving expensive water damage repairs in the future.

  • Test Your Alarms. This is easy but can save your life. Push the test button on your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and listen for the alarm. Don’t hear anything? Put in new batteries and repeat the test again.

  • Wash your window exteriors, and wash, repair or replace screens.

  • Inspect your attic and basement, if applicable. These areas will show signs of water damage or potential issues before you see them in your actual living spaces.

Regular maintenance boosts the value of your home.
