Spring Maintenance Reminders

Proper maintenance helps increase curb appeal, preserve property values, and ensures your community remains an attractive and desirable place to live.

Take a walk around the outside of your home and see if any of the following items apply to your home and need attention.

  • Pressure Wash siding, patios, and/or decks to remove mildew and dirt build-up and keep the surfaces looking fresh.

  • Clean and organize your porches, patios and/or decks. Most associations require anything left outside, like bicycles, toys, and grills to be stored neatly behind the home when not in use.

  • Clean screens and windows, screen doors and sliding doors.

  • Remove leaves and debris from gutters, and ensure water is flowing away from your home.

  • Check and re-caulk around windows and doors.

  • Stain wooden surfaces like decks, railings and fences.

  • Paint shutters, doors, and window trim.

  • Trim shrubs below windows, away from sidewalks and walkways, and away from your home.

  • Check that your address numbers are clearly visible on the front of your house.

  • Check trees, remove broken branches, and trim away from your house. Pull any vine growths off trees and siding.

  • Remove dead plants from flower beds, pull weeds, and add new mulch or rock as necessary.

  • Mow the grass, trim around your fence and sidewalks, and clean around your foundation vents.

  • Clean debris, grass, dust, dirt and spider webs off of and away from your AC compressor.

  • Check and change the batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors when you change the clocks.

  • Check your air filters and replace them if needed.

Completing these maintenance tasks in the spring keeps your home looking fresh and keeps you from getting a courtesy letter from our office.
